We're Going to Disneyland!

We are getting ready to fly out to California. Aaron and I (Cathy) will be staying with Lolo & Lola while Brent is on his deployment. Brent is leaving on Tuesday and Aaron & I leave tomorrow (Sunday). Please pray that we get to our destinations safe and sound.


This picture was taken two days ago. Aaron put his hat on and his sandals and started to walk towards the door. He was getting restless at home, so we took him to Jusco. I can't wait to take him to Disneyland!

The picture on the top shows Aaron's new do. Brent took him to a marine base and got him a military haircut! He said that two big guys had to hold him down. The haircut has some imperfections, but I'm sure they did the best that they can do. ;-)

Aaron's First Day at Sunday School

Two weeks ago we took Aaron out of the church nursery and into the toddlers' class. It's for 2-3 year olds. He had a good time. He usually cries when we leave him in the nursery, but this time he was having too much fun! They had Bible story, playtime, snack, and in the end Bubbles (a toddler's favorite!) I can't believe he is old enough to be in Sunday School. He is definately not a baby anymore!

Aaron's Birthday Party at Skoshi Bowl

Brent is getting deployed again! He missed Aaron's first birthday last year because he was deployed last year too. This year we decided to throw Aaron a party a month early just so his dad can take part in Aaron's special day. Aaron also has all of his friends here in Okinawa, so it all worked out perfectly. We had a great time at the Skoshi ( Japanese for "little") Bowl here at Kadena Air Base. The kids (and the adults!) got to play cosmic bowling. We also had pizza, cake, and ice cream. We were so blessed by the turn out. We could not have asked for a better birthday party for our son. This was the day that we went to the spa and watched the fireworks (see post below.) Thank you Lord for giving us a great day to remember!

Melanie's Visit to Okinawa

Here are more pictures from Brent's mom's visit. We went to a lot of different beaches here on island. Plus we went to Nago Pineapple Park and Ocean Expo Park with the Fredriksens. The aquarium is truly impressive. We've been here several times and we still get excited whenever we go. Aaron and Sammy had a blast together. They played at the water fountain before we left the park. In the first picture there are 10 people in the cart! Melanie, Myself, Brent, Aaron, Jon, Vanessa, Sammy, Allyson, Emily, & Melissa! Plus 2 stollers in the back!

Graduation Celebration

After the ceremony, we went to a restaurant called Stacks. It is a family owned restaurant that serves home cooked southern meals. We were there with Pastor Tom & Joanna and the Fredriksens. Afterwards we headed on over to the Freriksens for late night ice cream cake and a game of Texas Hold 'Em.

Brent's Graduation

All of Brent's hard work finally paid off! Brent got his AA & BS degrees at the same time. Whew! This was such a great occasion. He walked with his fellow classmates June 17, 2006. His mom flew in all the way from the States to come and see him graduate.

Chula-U Bath House

This weekend we went to Chula-U Bath House. It's a spa and a pool facility. It's so beautiful and relaxing. It is also right on the beach! We were suprised by a fireworks show that night. It was awesome, they were right above us. It turned out that there was a festival on the beach. We checked it out after we were done swimming. Brent & Aaron played a fishing game and won a hat with a fan attached to it! This is such a beautiful island with wonderful people. We will really miss Okinawa when we leave.

Charmaine's Okinawa Trip

It's been a while since we have updated our posts. A lot of things has happened including a visit from my sister. She was here for a month and a half. We had a great time. It was great that she got to meet her one and only nephew. These are pictures from Nago Pineapple Park and Ocean Expo Park.
