Pictures of the last few weeks

Hello everyone! It's been a long couple of months. I feel like so much has happened. Aaron and I are having a good time here at the house. Almost everything has been unpacked, so we are now enjoying our time together before I start working. For those of you who don't know, I got a job teaching pre-school, and Aaron will also be attending! Brent is now in Michigan going through training before he heads off to his deployment. He will be gone until November. It will be the longest time he's been deployed and I'm really hoping that time will go by fast. Please keep him in your prayers.

Disneyland!

After a week and a half of really bad jet-lagg and Aaron being sick with bronchitis, we finally made it out of the house. We, of course, spent the entire day at Disneyland. The weather was good, and we had a nice relaxing day. We are so blessed to be able to spend some family time before Brent begins his hectic schedule again.

Goodbye Dinner

The night before we left Okinawa, we were able to spend time with our close friends. (Not pictured is Pastor Rick, he was busy running after kids!) We ate at the King Kong Yakiniku Restaurant and afterwards, the guys played video games at the church while the girls hung out at our hotel room. It was a good night filled with good food and good friends. Thanks again guys for the great times while we were there. We will surely miss you all and will be looking forward to seeing you again.

Sayonara Okinawa

So we finally left Okinawa. It was bitter sweet as we are so excited to move on, but so sad to leave our friends and the beautiful island of Okinawa good-bye. We are now at my parent's house relaxing and getting used to the time change. We will leave for Vegas in a couple of weeks. Thanks to all who helped make our time there so memorable. We hope to see you all again very soon.

Dining at the hotel

Ok, despite all the hassels of PCSing, there are benefits as well. We get to eat out everyday! This is a treat for us, especially me, since most of our meals are cooked at home. For this season, we get a break from the usual lemon chicken or spam and eggs (not to mention the never-ending chore of washing the dishes!) and eat some really good Japanese food. We've been eating so good, we've gained weight! Here are some of our faves: Sushi, Tempura, and Okinawan Soba (Yum!)

We ended the night with more sillyness and of course sticky pics. Thanks for the fun night ladies! I will never forget it! ;-)

Ferris Wheel

During our night out, I asked the girls to ride the ferris wheel with me. Lisa and Melissa were both afraid of heights, but they went on it anyway. What great friends! We had a good time and even took pictures from the top.

My Farewell Dinner and Mihama

Some of the ladies at church met with me at Yoshihachi Restarant (another fave of mine!) and afterwards we went to Mihama and played some games and rode the ferris wheel. I had a great time with the girls. It was good to get out and relax after all the moving and cleaning we've been doing. None of us had our kids with us, so we were able to act like kids ourselves!

Cocoichibanya

In the first pictures, the boys were bored were trying to find things to play with. So, we decided to go out and eat. We went to Coco Curry House. One of our many favorite restaurants here in Okinawa, and probably one that we will miss a whole lot. I know how to make curry at home, but they have a very distict taste, and it's so oishi! I heard that not a lot of locals like Coco, since they prefer the home style kind of curry, but we can't help ourselves cause we really love the taste. The last picture is Brent showing off his Japanese PJ's that the hotel provided for us.

Grand Mer Hotel Okinawa

We finally moved out of our place and into a hotel. There were not enough room at the billeting on base, so they are letting us stay off base! What a blessing! We also had Aaron's friend, J.P. with us on the first night. Here are some pictures of the boys hanging out in the room. After a while they got bored and bagan to play with anything they saw in the room! Aaron will miss his friend, so we were glad to have him with us before we left the island.

Moving out

TMO came last week and packed all of our things. We were left with a few blankets, air mattresses, and some other bare necessities. We had a great time, however, and it felt like we were camping out in our livingroom! We were really blessed to have our place in Kadena, but excited to move on!

Cherry Blossoms #2

Last time we ventured north to see the cherry blossoms, they were not in bloom. We would have liked to see more this time as well, but there were definately more than the last time. Maybe we can see them again once more before we leave. Nevertheless, we had a great time taking pictures and enjoying all the pretty cherry blossoms around us.

Japanese Food

One more thing that we will surely miss... Japanese food.

Seaside Inn- Kadena Marina

Another one of our favorite places here in Okinawa. We often hit this place after church on Sundays. They have a good lunch buffet, and we enjoy the awesome terrace view. Aaron loves to throw pieces of his dinner roll in the ocean to feed the fish. ;-)

Shopping at Jusco

This one of my most favorite things to do here on island. I love shopping off-base! There are so many cool things to see and do! Aaron and I frequently go to Jusco to shop (they sell a lot of cute and pink things, not to mention Hello Kitty!) , eat at McDonalds (so much better than the ones back in the States!), and play games at the amusement area (these games and rides are so awesome...Aaron loves them!).
