Summer Days are Almost Gone

I can't believe how fast summer went! Aaron and I spent the entire summer here in Corona. It's been very hot, but definately not as hot as Las Vegas! ;-) Here are some of the things we have done this summer.

Here are more pics from the party. The cakes. Nehemiah picked Spiderman, and of course Aaron got his Superman cake.

In the end of the performance, Chuck E. Cheese threw some tickets on the floor so the kids can grab them. I think Richard got most of the tickets. Good job, Richard!

Aaron and Nehemiah's 3rd Birthday at Chuck E. Cheese

We celebrated Aaron and Nehemiah's (Aaron's friend from church) birthdays at Chuck E. Cheese here in Corona. They are both 3 years old. Time really flies by fast. It seems just like yesterday that Janine (Nehemiah's Mom) and I were pregnant with the boys. Janine and I met while we were pregnant with Aaron and Nehemiah, and we became good friends ever since. We were very pleased with the turn out at the party. We invited the boy's friends from church (toddler class). I was especially happy to see my friend, Alicia. It was great to see her and her kids. She is a good friend of mine from the good ole' days from youth group at church. Royce was also there. He was a huge help with the kids. He helped run after all the kids while the moms sat and hung out together. The last picture is my favorite. It's a picture of Me, Janine, and Lizeth, and our boys. Lizeth and Janine has been a huge blessing as they help fill my days with laughter and good times while I am here in Corona, waiting for my husband to return home. Thanks to all who were there!

VBS-Game Day Central

This summer I am helping with Livingwater's VBS. The theme this year is sports, so we are all dressed in athletic gear. So far it has been a lot of fun. Patty Sedota is in charge of the VBS, and she is really talented. Pastor Pule makes games fun for the kids. Aaron is in toddlers class, and he loves being in there. Here are some pictures of last Wednesday night.

Gymboree Class

I enrolled Aaron in a Gymboree class so that he can play with other kids. At first he was really shy, but in the end he was having lots of fun. The teachers make the class real fun for the kids. This week they learned about Dinosaurs. In this picture, the teacher is pretending that she is a volcano that is erupting (blowing bubbles).

Brent in Iraq

Here is a picture of Brent in Iraq. He said that they are busy and have been working 16 hours a day. He is definately a hard worker and he loves what he does. Please continue to pray for his safety and the safety of all of the soldiers in Iraq. Brent is due to return in November.

Superman!

Right now, Aaron is really into super-heros. With the release of the new Spiderman movie, he has been seeing Spiderman merchandise and ads everywhere he went! So naturally, he has taken a liking to Spiderman or "Spidey" accordning to Aaron. He then moved on to Superman, after watching the old Superman movies. He was so excited when I put this new pair of pajamas on him, he immediately jumped onto the bed and posed in front of the mirror.

Jon & Lina's Wedding

Our good friends, Jonathan and Lina got married a couple of weeks ago. I was very blessed and honored to be a part of it. It was a beautiful ceremony, definately one of the most beautiful weddings I have even been to. We all had a great time. I just wished that Brent would have been there.

Stitches!

It was bound to happen sooner or later. No matter how closely I watch my son, like any other boy, he still gets hurt. He had his very first injury last month. He hit his ear on the corner of our coffee table. Fortunately, it looked worse that it really was. The injury was on his earlobe, where the pain wasn't bad at all. In fact, I did more of the crying than Aaron did! He was very calm while I franticly drove around our new neighborhood looking for the emergency room.

Pictures of the last few weeks

Hello everyone! It's been a long couple of months. I feel like so much has happened. Aaron and I are having a good time here at the house. Almost everything has been unpacked, so we are now enjoying our time together before I start working. For those of you who don't know, I got a job teaching pre-school, and Aaron will also be attending! Brent is now in Michigan going through training before he heads off to his deployment. He will be gone until November. It will be the longest time he's been deployed and I'm really hoping that time will go by fast. Please keep him in your prayers.

Disneyland!

After a week and a half of really bad jet-lagg and Aaron being sick with bronchitis, we finally made it out of the house. We, of course, spent the entire day at Disneyland. The weather was good, and we had a nice relaxing day. We are so blessed to be able to spend some family time before Brent begins his hectic schedule again.

Goodbye Dinner

The night before we left Okinawa, we were able to spend time with our close friends. (Not pictured is Pastor Rick, he was busy running after kids!) We ate at the King Kong Yakiniku Restaurant and afterwards, the guys played video games at the church while the girls hung out at our hotel room. It was a good night filled with good food and good friends. Thanks again guys for the great times while we were there. We will surely miss you all and will be looking forward to seeing you again.

Sayonara Okinawa

So we finally left Okinawa. It was bitter sweet as we are so excited to move on, but so sad to leave our friends and the beautiful island of Okinawa good-bye. We are now at my parent's house relaxing and getting used to the time change. We will leave for Vegas in a couple of weeks. Thanks to all who helped make our time there so memorable. We hope to see you all again very soon.

Ok, despite all the hassels of PCSing, there are benefits as well. We get to eat out everyday! This is a treat for us, especially me, since most of our meals are cooked at home. For this season, we get a break from the usual lemon chicken or spam and eggs (not to mention the never-ending chore of washing the dishes!) and eat some really good Japanese food. We've been eating so good, we've gained weight! Here are some of our faves: Sushi, Tempura, and Okinawan Soba (Yum!)

Ferris Wheel

During our night out, I asked the girls to ride the ferris wheel with me. Lisa and Melissa were both afraid of heights, but they went on it anyway. What great friends! We had a good time and even took pictures from the top.
